Itinerary Route: Chennai → Mahabalipuram → Trichy → Tanjore → Chettinad → Pachmarhi → Maheshwar → Mandu → Mumbai

Overview: A rare journey that connects South India's temple-studded coastline with Central India's lush hills and forgotten forts. Begin by exploring ancient rock-cut temples in Mahabalipuram, sacred shrines in Trichy, and the grandeur of the Chola era in Tanjore. Taste the rich culture and cuisine of Chettinad, then shift gears toward the sal-scented forests of Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh’s only hill station. End your journey on the tranquil ghats of Maheshwar and the poetic ruins of Mandu, before catching your breath in the fast-paced energy of Mumbai.

DAY 01

Arrive in Chennai – Gateway to South India

Arrive in the vibrant coastal city of Chennai. Meet your tour coordinator and transfer to your hotel. Relax and prepare for your journey ahead.

DAY 02

Colonial Landmarks & Coastal Heritage – Chennai to Mahabalipuram

Begin your morning exploring Chennai’s colonial past at Fort St. George and the Government Museum. Later, drive to Mahabalipuram — a charming beach town known for its ancient shore temples and delicious seafood.

DAY 03

Temples by the Sea – Mahabalipuram to Trichy

Explore Mahabalipuram’s rock-cut wonders, including Arjuna’s Penance and the Shore Temple, with a local guide.

Later, drive through lush farmlands to Trichy.

DAY 04

Sacred Shrines & Sunset Temples – Trichy to Tanjore

Visit Rock Fort Temple and Srirangam’s grand Vishnu shrine. Continue to Tanjore to witness the UNESCO-listed Brihadeeswarar Temple at sunset — a breathtaking Chola dynasty masterpiece.

DAY 05

Royal Grandeur & Cultural Flavours – Tanjore to Chettinad

Tour Tanjore’s royal heritage and then drive to Chettinad, famed for its palatial mansions and spicy cuisine. Arrive in time for a traditional Chettinad lunch. Overnight in Kanadukathan.

DAY 06

Waterfalls, Rock Art & Sunset Points

Start your day at Duchess Falls and walk to Mount Rosa, spotting tiger tracks and raptors en route. Explore ancient Pandav Caves and end the day with a magical sunset at Dhupgarh, the highest point in Madhya Pradesh.

DAY 07

Into the Forest We Go

Trek 8km through sal forests, starting from Jata Shanker Caves. Look out for sambar, Malabar giant squirrels, vultures, and maybe even leopard paw prints. A nature-lover’s dream.

DAY 08

Trails of Wings & Whispers

Visit the Butterfly Garden at Panarpani, where over 50 species flutter freely. Later, embark on a long scenic drive to the riverine town of Maheshwar—a soul-soothing end to the day.

DAY 09

Life at Ahilya Fort

pend the morning immersed in the Meenakshi Amman Temple, one of India’s most iconic and spiritually charged temples. Let your guide unravel its layers of myth, sculpture, and riSettle into your stay at the magnificent Ahilya Fort, perched high above the Narmada River. Once a queen’s seat of power, today it’s an elegant heritage retreat full of quiet corners and regal charm.

Overnight: Maheshwartual. In the afternoon, explore local markets or visit the Nayak Palace, a remnant of 17th-century regal grandeur.

DAY 10

Temples, Textiles & River Rhythms

Walk along the ghats, observe pilgrims at sunrise, and explore ancient temples lining the sacred river. Don’t miss Maheshwar’s iconic handwoven saris, a tradition alive with colour and craftsmanship.

DAY 11

The Forgotten Kingdom of Mandu

A day trip to Mandu, a city of love, palaces, tombs, and whispering monuments from the time of Pathan sultans. One of India’s most romantic ruins awaits you.

Farewell India
