DAY 01

Arrival in Ahmedabad – Gandhi’s Legacy, Jain Temples & Sacred Light

Arrive in Ahmedabad, where you will be warmly received by our representative and assisted with your transfer to The House of MG.

Arrive in Ahmedabad, the UNESCO World Heritage City, and a warm welcome and an assisted transfer to a heritage hotel - The House of MG await. After a brief rest, begin your journey through Gujarat’s soul-stirring heritage.

The House of MG is a beautifully restored heritage hotel that reflects the elegance and charm of old Ahmedabad. Settle in and relax for a few hours.

Walk Through Gandhi’s Footsteps.

 

Your first stop is the serene Sabarmati Ashram, once the home of Mahatma Gandhi and the epicentre of his non-violent freedom movement. Nestled along the Sabarmati River, this peaceful retreat continues to radiate the spirit of truth and simplicity. Stroll through Gandhi’s humble living quarters and curated galleries chronicling his life, ideals, and pivotal role in India’s independence.

After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the Hutheesingh Jain Temple, an exquisite white marble temple dedicated to Lord Dharmanatha, the 15th Jain Tirthankara.

Next, marvel at the architectural brilliance of the Adalaj Stepwell, a five-storied, intricately carved Vav built in 1499. Stepwells like these were not only sources of water but also served as gathering places for the community.

Continue to Gandhinagar to visit the grand Akshardham Temple, built from pink sandstone and devoted to Lord Swaminarayan.

In the evening, witness the breathtaking Sat-Chit-Anand Water Show – a 45-minute light, water, and laser spectacle that narrates the timeless tale of Nachiketa and Yama from the Kathopanishad. (Akshardham Temple remains closed on Every Monday.)

DAY 02

Ahmedabad to Dwarka – A Sacred Journey to Krishna’s Golden Kingdom.

After an early breakfast, embark on a long yet scenic drive across Gujarat’s heartland toward the holy city of Dwarka, one of the Char Dhams and one of the Sapta Puri, the seven most ancient pilgrimage sites in India. En route, stop for a leisurely lunch in Rajkot, a vibrant Saurashtrian city known for its heritage and hospitality.

If you reach Jamnagar before sunset, you may take a short detour to explore:

Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary – A unique ecological reserve where freshwater and saltwater habitats merge. A paradise for birdwatchers, this sanctuary hosts migratory and resident species including flamingos, pelicans, and storks.

Bala Hanuman Temple, renowned for its nonstop chanting of “Shri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram” since 1964 — earning it a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. The devotion and energy here are palpable and uplifting.

Arrival in Dwarka by evening – The Eternal City of Krishna
Check into your pre-booked hotel. After freshening up, enjoy a traditional Gujarati dinner and rest for the night.

Dwarka – Kingdom of Lord Krishna
Dwarka, perched on the Arabian Sea, is believed to be the legendary city built by Lord Krishna after he left Mathura. Ancient scriptures like the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Skanda Purana, Vishnu Purana, Harivamsa, and the Mahabharata speak of Dwarka as the Golden City and a once-prosperous capital. It is not just a town; it is a spiritual experience wrapped in history, mythology, and divine resonance.

DAY 03

Exploring the Divine Realm of Dwarka – From Jyotirlingas to Island Temples

Start your day early with the spiritually uplifting Mangla Aarti at the Dwarkadhish Temple (6:30 AM) – one of the most sacred rituals in Hinduism. The temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna, comes alive in the serene hours of dawn with chants, bells, and a divine atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression.

Return to your hotel for breakfast, and then begin your full-day spiritual journey.
 

Visit 1: Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple
Drive to the nearby Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the 12 self-manifested Jyotirlingas (Swayambhu) of Lord Shiva. Ancient texts refer to this site as Darukavana, a legendary forest where sages worshipped Shiva. A towering statue of Lord Shiva welcomes pilgrims from afar, and the aura of this temple is powerful and serene.

Visit 2: Beyt Dwarka – Krishna’s Island Abode
Next, drive to Okha Port, from where a short ferry ride (5 km) across the Arabian Sea takes you to Beyt Dwarka, a sacred island believed to be the original residence of Lord Krishna and his family. The main temple, over 500 years old, was built by Sri Vallabhacharya and still retains its old-world charm.

Explore the narrow, bustling alleys lined with shops selling local crafts, seashells, idols, and offerings. The island also houses temples dedicated to Radha, Lakshmi, Satyabhama, Devaki, Jambavati, and Vishnu.

 Visit 3: Rukmini Devi Temple
On your way back to Dwarka, stop at the Rukmini Temple, located about 2 km from the main Dwarkadhish shrine. According to legend, Sage Durvasa’s curse forced Rukmini to live apart from Krishna, which explains the physical distance between their temples. The temple’s mythological significance and intricate carvings make it a fascinating stop.

 Visit 4: Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple
In the evening, visit the serene Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple, located on a hillock surrounded by the Arabian Sea. Dedicated to Chandramouleshwara Shiva, this picturesque temple houses a naturally discovered Shivling at the confluence of the Gomti, Ganga, and Arabian Sea – believed to have been enshrined by Jagatguru Shankaracharya himself.

Evening Leisure: Shopping in Dwarka
Later in the evening, explore the vibrant local markets of Dwarka. Pick up hand-embroidered handicrafts, colourful mirror-work dress materials, traditional Ghagra Cholis, and beaded footwear – a perfect way to take home a piece of Gujarat’s rich artisan heritage.

DAY 04

Porbandar to Somnath – A Journey Through Legends and Legacies

After an early breakfast, begin your scenic coastal drive to Somnath, with an enriching stopover in Porbandar – the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. This route offers glimpses of Gujarat’s cultural richness and spiritual legacy.

Stopover: Porbandar – The Birthplace of the Mahatma
Visit the iconic Kirti Mandir, a memorial and museum built in honour of Mahatma Gandhi at the site of his birth. The modest home, now a museum, offers a moving insight into the life and ideals of India’s greatest freedom fighter. Walk through the very rooms where Bapu spent his early years and explore exhibits including rare photographs, letters, and personal belongings.

Continue the drive to Somnath.
On arrival, check in to your pre-booked hotel and relax before the next spiritual chapter of your journey begins.

Visit 1: Bhalka Teerth – The Departure of Lord Krishna
Your first visit in Somnath is to Bhalka Teerth, the revered site where Lord Krishna is believed to have been mistakenly shot in the foot by a hunter, marking the moment he ended his earthly incarnation. The peaceful temple, known as Mahaprabhuji’s Bethak, features a beautiful tribhangi (three-bend) idol of Krishna playing his flute and a sacred tulsi tree planted in his memory.

Nearby, visit Dehotsarg, the exact spot where Krishna is said to have ascended to his divine abode, adding a powerful spiritual layer to the experience.

Evening Rituals: Aarti and Light & Sound Show
Attend the evening aarti at 7:00 PM, an unforgettable spiritual experience as the sea breeze, chants, and temple bells create a divine atmosphere. Stay on to witness the Sound and Light Show, a mesmerizing multimedia experience that narrates the mythological, historical, and modern journey of Somnath. Through lights, sound, and visuals, the show brings alive the tale of a temple that stood resilient through centuries.

DAY 05

Somnath to Diu – Where Myth Meets the Sea

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive towards the charming island town of Diu, known for its sun-drenched beaches, colonial charm, and unique blend of history, myth, and maritime heritage. En route, make a spiritual stop at a site rooted in Krishna lore.

En Route Visit: Mul Dwarka – Tracing Krishna’s Footsteps
Located in the village of Visavda, Mul Dwarka is a revered temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna. According to legend, this was one of the resting points of Lord Krishna on his journey from Mathura to Dwarka. In remembrance, his "Paduka" (divine footprints) are preserved in the temple, inviting pilgrims and devotees to connect with his sacred path.

Arrive in Diu – The Coastal Jewel of Gujarat
Check in to your pre-booked hotel and take a moment to unwind. Diu, a former Portuguese colony, is a serene blend of coastal beauty, colonial architecture, and vibrant local culture. Ideal for both relaxation and exploration, it offers a refreshing contrast to the inland spiritual towns.

Panikotha Fortress – The Guardian of the Creek
Your Diu tour begins with a visit to the Panikotha Fort, a striking stone fortress built on the sea during the reign of Malik Aiyaz, a governor of the Gujarat Sultanate. Located at the mouth of the creek, this sea fort served as a strategic checkpoint controlling maritime trade. Its isolated, offshore location and robust stone architecture make it a captivating sight, especially at sunset.

St. Paul’s Church – A Colonial Masterpiece
Next, explore St. Paul’s Church, one of the most exquisite examples of Portuguese Baroque architecture in India. Also known as the Church of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, it stands as a symbol of Diu's colonial heritage, with ornate wood carvings, decorative stucco work, and peaceful interiors that reflect the craftsmanship of its time.

 Gangeshwar Mahadev Temple – Where Waves Worship Shiva
Tucked amid seaside rocks, the Gangeshwar Temple is one of the most mystical shrines in Diu. Here, five Shivlings are bathed continuously by gentle sea waves, creating a serene and spiritual spectacle. It is believed that the five Pandavas, during their exile, worshipped Lord Shiva at this very spot.

Khukri Memorial – Honouring Naval Bravery
Visit the INS Khukri Memorial, dedicated to the Indian Navy frigate that was sunk during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. This sombre yet proud site overlooks the Arabian Sea and stands as a tribute to the brave sailors who lost their lives in defence of the nation.

Nagoa Beach – Sunset & Water Sports
As the day winds down, head to Nagoa Beach, the most popular beach in Diu. Enjoy the calm turquoise waters, palm-lined shore, and thrilling water sports like jet skiing and banana boat rides—or simply relax and watch the sun dip into the sea.

DAY 06

From Fishing Villages to Forest Kings

Start your day early with a truly local and authentic experience before heading deep into Gujarat’s wild heartland.

 

Vanakbara Village – Morning with the Sea
At sunrise, visit the quaint fishing village of Vanakbara, one of Diu’s hidden gems. From 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM, the village comes alive as the Kharwa fishing community returns with their fresh catch. Watch the harbour buzz with activity—vibrantly painted boats, fishermen hauling nets, the auctioning of fish, and the salty breeze that captures the essence of coastal Gujarat.

 

Best time for photography, cultural interaction, and seeing real coastal life unfold.

After a hearty meal, check out and drive towards Gir National Park, the famed home of the Asiatic Lion.

In the afternoon, set off on an exclusive open Gypsy safari through the Gir Wildlife Sanctuary, the only place on Earth where the Asiatic Lion still roams wild and free.

Explore a vibrant mix of dry deciduous forests, scrublands, and water bodies, home to an extraordinary array of wildlife. Asiatic Lions – Majestic, elusive, and rare.  Chousingha (Four-Horned Antelope) – A unique species seen only in India, Chinkara (Indian Gazelle) – Graceful and swift, Raptors like Changeable Hawk-Eagle, Crested Serpent Eagle, and Shaheen Peregrine Falcon, Vibrant birdlife including Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Golden Oriole, and Painted Sandgrouse, The park's teak-draped trails and riverine zones make for spectacular wildlife viewing and photography, especially during golden hour.

DAY 07

Gir to Ahmedabad – Heritage, Legends & Farewell

After breakfast, set off at 8:00 AM for the return journey to Ahmedabad, with cultural stops that offer a final deep dive into Gujarat’s layered history and spirituality.

Your first stop en route is Junagadh, a city nestled at the foot of Mt. Girnar, known for its rich historical confluence of Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, and Islamic cultures.

Key Attractions:
1. Uperkot Fort – An ancient fort, over 2,300 years old, known for withstanding 16 sieges over 1,000 years. Explore its stepwells, temples, and massive walls offering panoramic views.

2. Ashoka’s Rock Edicts – A polished stone inscribed with 14 edicts of Emperor Ashoka from the 3rd century BCE, reflecting his conversion to Buddhism and promotion of dharma.

3. Mahabat Maqbara – A hidden Indo-Islamic architectural masterpiece. With its spiralling staircases, domes, and intricate carvings, this mausoleum is arguably more exquisite than the Taj Mahal and is often called Gujarat’s Taj.

4. Virpur – Devotion at the Jalaram Bapa Temple


Continue to Virpur, a sacred town revered for Jalaram Bapa, the saint known for his unwavering service, simplicity, and miracles.  Legend says Lord Rama once appeared in disguise, and Bapa selflessly asked his wife to accompany the Lord without hesitation. A divine bag and staff gifted by Rama are still preserved in the temple. The original belongings of Jalaram Bapa: a stick, a bag, and rare photographs. A zero-donation temple – One of India’s few that does not accept money, reflecting true selfless service.

Free meals and accommodation (Dharamshala) are offered to all pilgrims by the temple trust.

The smiling idol of Jalaram Bapa in a white turban and dhoti-kurta inspires immense faith and peace.

5. Arrival in Ahmedabad – Last-Minute Shopping
Reach Ahmedabad by early evening. Time permitting, stop for a quick shopping spree at:

Sardar Patel Bavla, Naranpura – For ready-to-wear and custom-stitched ethnic dresses.

Kamdhenu Khadi Ghar – Famous for authentic Khadi fabrics, handspun cotton, and local handmade products.

Grab a quick South Indian meal at Sankalp Restaurant near Subhash Bridge, close to the airport.

 

Departure – Taking Gujarat Back With You
