This profound dialogue, spanning 700 verses, remains deeply relevant across centuries and cultures. Even if you haven’t read it before, you’ll be surprised at how its teachings resonate with the challenges and duties of everyday life. Lunch stop en-route at the Imperial Palace in Rajkot, offering a chance to relax and savor local flavors.
If time permits before sunset, visit the Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary, a serene haven for migratory and resident birds, or the Bala Hanuman Temple, famous for its nonstop Ramdhun, recognized in the Guinness World Records.

Day 02
Spiritual Exploration of Dwarka and Bet Dwarka
Start your day early with a visit to the Dwarkadish Temple to witness the Mangla Aarti at 6:30 AM — a serene and soul-stirring ritual that marks the beginning of the day with devotion and chanting. After the aarti, visit the sacred Gomti Ghat, an important spiritual site on the banks of the Gomti River, before returning to your hotel for breakfast.
Morning: Nageshwar Jyotirling and the Legend of Lord Shiva
Post breakfast, embark on a visit to the Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. According to the Shiv Purana, Lord Shiva appeared here in his serpent-adorned form, Nageshwar, to vanquish the demon Daruka and free his devotee Supriya.
The temple is carved from beautiful pink stone, housing the idol of Dakshinamurti, a form of Shiva as the supreme teacher. Devotees are uniquely permitted to enter the sanctum sanctorum and perform Abhishek (ritual bathing) of the Shiva Lingam, dressed in traditional attire alongside the local priest. The temple complex also features a massive statue of a seated Shiva visible from afar, and an idol of Shani beneath a large sacred pipal tree.
Midday: Bet Dwarka – The Island of Lord Krishna
Next, proceed to Bet Dwarka (pronounced ‘Bait’), also known as Shankhodara — an island about 30 km from Dwarka, across the Gulf of Kutch. This was the reputed residence of Lord Krishna during his reign in Dwarka.
The name "Bet Dwarka" is derived from a beloved legend: Krishna’s childhood friend Sudama visited him here and offered him tandoor poha (flattened rice) as a bhet (gift), symbolizing their enduring friendship.
Take a 15-minute ferry ride to the island, where you will visit:
Rukmini Temple — dedicated to Krishna’s chief queen, an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. The temple is secluded on arid land with no buildings nearby, enhancing its mystical charm.
The temple’s intricate carvings and paintings depict various stories from Krishna and Rukmini’s life.
A local priest will narrate the fascinating legend explaining why Rukmini is worshipped separately from Krishna’s other wives: On a journey with sage Durvasa, Rukmini’s thirst and the subsequent curse led to her separation from Krishna. This story adds a poignant depth to the temple’s significance.
Offering prayers here is considered essential to complete your Dwarka pilgrimage.
Return to your hotel for lunch and some relaxation.
Evening: Mystical Badkeshwar Mahadev Temple & Leisure in Dwarka
In the evening, visit the Badkeshwar Mahadev Temple, known for its unique natural ritual. Every year in June or July, the rising Arabian Sea gradually submerges the temple, performing a natural Abhishek (bathing) of the Shivalinga by the sea itself, before receding back. Witnessing this phenomenon, even from the outside, connects you with nature’s rhythm and divine power.
Spend the rest of your evening at leisure, exploring the spiritual aura and local life of Devbhoomi Dwarka. Dinner is on your own today.
Overnight stay in Dwarka.
Day 03

Upon reaching Somnath, enjoy a quick lunch before heading out to visit:
Bhalka Teerth: The revered temple marks the sacred spot where Lord Krishna was accidentally wounded by a hunter’s arrow in his foot — an event that led to his earthly departure. Adjacent is the Dehotsarg Teerth, where Krishna is said to have relinquished his mortal form.
The Mahaprabhuji's Bethak at Bhalka Tirth is significant for its sacred tulsi tree planted in Krishna’s memory.
At Dehotsarg Tirth, the great philosopher Shri Vallabhacharya held seven days of discourses on the Shrimad Bhagvat Gita during the 9th century AD.
Nearby, the Gita Mandir impresses with its eighteen marble pillars, each inscribed with a chapter from the Bhagvat Gita, alongside a beautiful tribhangi idol of Krishna playing his flute.
Evening: The Magnificent Somnath Temple
Next, visit the world-famous Somnath Temple, a stunning spiritual landmark on the Arabian Sea coast, believed to have been originally constructed:
In gold by the Moon God Soma,
In silver by the Sun God Ravi,
In wood by Lord Krishna,
And later in stone by the Solanki Rajputs in the 11th century.
The temple you see today is the seventh reconstruction, completed in 1951, after repeated destructions and restorations throughout history. Its majestic Chalukyan style architecture boasts a soaring shikhara nearly 50 meters tall, intricate carvings, impressive silver doors, and a massive Nandi idol guarding the central Shivling.
Set on the tip of the Saurashtra peninsula, the temple overlooks the Arabian Sea, offering breathtaking views where spirituality meets the ocean’s vastness.
Overnight stay in Somnath.

Virpur – Jalaram Bapa Temple
From Junagadh, proceed to Virpur, to visit the revered Jalaram Bapa Temple. The temple honors Jalaram Bapa, a saint known for his deep devotion and acts of kindness.
Legend has it that once Lord Rama appeared before Jalaram Bapa disguised as an old man seeking care. Without hesitation, Bapa’s wife accompanied Rama on a journey, after which Rama gifted a stick and a bag to Virbhai, later revealed to be Rama himself. These original relics are preserved in the temple.
The temple houses a portrait and an original photo of Jalaram Bapa taken a year before his passing.
Remarkably, the temple trust runs a free kitchen (langar) and dharamshala (accommodation) for devotees without accepting any donations or money — a rare tradition symbolizing pure selfless service.
The idol of Bapa is depicted smiling, holding a stick, and dressed in a white turban with a dhoti-kurta.
